The FluBot mobile phone scam is a scam where people receive text messages alerting them about non-existent missed calls, voicemails or deliveries. They are then told to click a link within the text to find out more. The link will take youtube malware that will take over your phone,stealing vital information like passwords and credit card details.
The FluBot mobile phone scam take down was executed by an operation involving international police from 11 countries who have worked together to take down the scam. This operation was led by Dutch cybercops.
The scam was a major operation, involving the theft of millions of dollars from people in the affected countries. The police were able to track the scam down and take it down with the help of INTERPOL and other law enforcement agencies.
Eleven countries were involved in taking down a mobile phone scam dubbed FluBot. The countries were Australia, the United States, Belgium, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Police officers in each of those countries collaborated to dismantle the scamming operation.
